Or better yet get a LS2 or LS6 which will be about the same mpg but way more power. Im a GM man so trust me on this. LS2/LS6 swap isn't practicle in an S-10 and they are gonna be a lot harder to find which means it would be a lot more expensive. There are scads of Camaros and TA's out there that are wrecked that you could get the running gear out of and put it down in the S-10 fairly easily.

I know that boon, but I was just letting him know as far as power goes. Yes getting a LS1 is more practical and cheaper.

a guy i know bought a wrecked camero with an lt1 for like $1,500.00, and he put it in a 1964 ford falcon. and he did all of that on a grass mowing budget, so it is very possible to find an ls1 for a reasonable price. somewhere. or get an old wrecked mustang 5.0, and put that in it.
